Update - Trade Industry Conference 2021
25 February 21
After much deliberation, the Trades Industry Conference Committee regretfully announces that the Trades Industry Conference will not be held in any capacity this year. Following an initial postponement in 2020 due to COVID-19, the conference had been scheduled for 1 - 2 September 2021 at the Royal International Convention Centre, Brisbane.
This is not a decision that has been taken lightly; however, the committee extensively deliberated over the risks of running an event of this size with the COVID-19 situation still not being as stable as we had hoped. The Associations understand that this will come as an enormous disappointment to the industry professionals, exhibitors, and partners who were due to attend the event. Unfortunately, the nature of large events is a significant upfront cost that cannot be recouped if a last-minute lock down occurs and we are unable to take the risk.
While every effort was made to move the conference to an online platform, the committee assessed the value that delegates and partners would receive and concluded that it would not be in the best interests of everyone involved.
We would like to pay tribute to all the hard work of the committee over the last two years, and to acknowledge the significant commitment by speakers, sponsors, and volunteers.
We are deeply sorry about not being able to execute our event and any unfulfilled expectations that this may cause. All going well, we hope to see you at our 2022 Trades Industry Conference as we remain committed to creating valuable industry events for our members and partners.
The Trades Industry Conference Committee is made up of representatives from seven leading industry Associations, including:
*Association of Hydraulic Services Consultants Australia (AHSCA) QLD
*Air-Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association of Australia (AMCA)
*Backflow Prevention Association of Australia Inc. (BPAA) – QLD Chapter
*Institute of Plumbing Inspectors QLD (IPIQ)
*Master Plumbers’ Association of Queensland (MPAQ)
*National Fire Industry Association (NFIA)
*Queensland Gas Association (QGA)
