AGM 2019 Election of Office Bearers

Our 2019 Annual General Meeting was held yesterday, Wednesday the 27th November 2019.
Our AGM is held every year to elect our Office Bearers and to inform our members of previous and future activities.
It is an opportunity for our members to comment on our Executive Committee’s reports, as well as reviewing fiscal information for the past financial year and ask any questions regarding the directions the association will take in the future.To all our members, your input and involvement in our association is invaluable.
Congratulations our new Office Bearers for 2019/20!
The following Officer Bearers were elected:
Executive Committee
President: Darrel Vecchio
Vice President: Kent Vickers
Secretary: Kurt Ewart
Treasurer: Rockie Whitbread
Members Committee: Steff Gall, Luke Cox, Ryan Heathwood, Kayne Herriman, David Williamson, Glenn Hanna, Kurt Lewis
Milestones This Year:
-Welcomed the new Admin Officer onboard -Michelle Crossan
-New membership benefits provided
-New format- QGA Business Meetings via Zoom
-Field trips to Caravanning QLD, Rinnai in Yatala, and the Oakey Power Station tour
-The QGA held 13 PD (professional development sessions) which included presentations on: Agas National / Charge out rates-know your cost $$ / Unpacking gas compliance / Online renewal Licence assessment / Type B or not Type B gas ?? / Electrical audits / new risk assessment for Type B gas submissions – a guide to be compliant, along with many more…..
-The safety alert and technical bulletin for Suburban Suspension
-Held our annual Fundraiser for Mates in Construction. We raised $750 in aid of suicide prevention in the Construction Industry.
-Heat resistant labels for purchase now launched on our website- special offer for members
-Part of the Trades Industry Conference 2020
-Welcomed two new Committee Members - Kurt Ewart & Glen Hanna
-Strengthening relationships with gas safety & Licensing
Our aims for 2020:
-Continue on the path of being a professional body and remain to be recognised as the voice for the Gas Industry
-We will continue to protect the Gas Industry and Gas Fitters
-Gain more members, to enable our Association to grow even stronger
-Sponsorship
-Involvement in the Hydrogen System
-Provide lots more interesting PD (professional development) sessions
-Arrange more exciting Field Trips
Together we will continue to be an association run by professionals for professionals, ensuring that gas business remains viable for future generations, as well as being the collective voice for the gas industry in Queensland and an advocate of Gas Safety Awareness!
